"I Still Believe In Heroes" - Nick Fury
For my final project at Hartwick, i wanted to really go out with a bang, and since i was on an Avenger's/super heroes kick, i wanted to turn girls into super heroes. I worked with Cassidy and we were able to create a wonderful series that was made to represent playing cards. Here are those images.
Here are a few photos from printing with color film from my film class that i didn't mind also.

Focusing on photo this semester, i really wanted to try something new and push myself in every way possible. So, i decided to give back to the community i was living in that had probably saved my life this spring semester, by taking all of their portraits. a black and white series, i wanted them to have a much more serious and calming tone to them rather then beauty or fashion. it was a big push for me, but i was thrilled with the results.

Leilani's Fashion Internship Work - February - June.

For the last four and a half months of my Spring Semester, I was able to have a fashion internship at a dress store in town, Leilani's. Here, I was not only able to have a first real job working in a store and learning how to use things such as a cash register (which let me tell you, what quite the exciting experience) but I also was able to pick out dresses, find my own models, and create adds for the store. I was lucky enough that as a sophomore, not only to be granted this internship, but also to be able to have full ability to chose what i wanted and how i wanted to do, which is a lot more then most interns are able to say. My photography improved in leaps and bounds. My compositions improved, my technique improved as well as becoming much more professional and with a new understanding of how to photograph people so that the articles the designer was trying to sell would ultimately be the focus of the picture along with enticing to the consumer. My overall understand of my own photography also improved, and i was able to realize things about my photography i hadn't noticed before, like my lack of paying attention to backgrounds and how they can either make or break a picture. Having the freedom in the internship also pushed me to really push myself and work hard at trying new things and working to better my technique and understanding of not only fashion photography, but my photography as a whole. I was able to push my creativity and go beyond what i thought my limits were which was a really gratifying feeling. I was able to work with natural and outdoor light and settings, which is something i haven't had as much practice with, which was also an exciting challenge, as i not only had to figure out the different types of light for weather, but i also had to use all the different landscapes and surrounding backgrounds and such to add and frame my photos unlike the studio where i just had the light.
I also learned a lot about myself in the process as my mano/strep incident that caused me to miss about 2/3 weeks of working in the store caused some internal issues for me in the work place. Besides the sickness issue, i overall had a really good time working with my boss's, the other interns, and really felt like i was apart of the store family. In addition, i got the opportunity to work with professional hair stylist for my models for each shoot, along with Karma's in town, who did an entire bridal hair and makeup makeover for one of my wedding shoots. Actually being able to work with other professionals was amazing, 1, because i didn't have to do everything myself, but i also go to have legit looking work because the quality was so much better. I also got to work a live model prom event at the store, which in itself was a really cool experience. On a side note, i also was able to get over my fear of answering the phone for strangers, big success. Overall, I'm glad i came back this semester and his this opportunity and i know i not only learned so much from it, but i will take everything i learned and be able to use it in the future. Here are some of my top favorite photos, along with the link to the Leilani's facebook album where all are posted. LINK - CLICK HERE FOR FACEBOOK ALBUM
